"Pop-off" the key-cap of the backslash (\) key (i.e. the key between the "Backspace" and "Enter" keys)
- To "Pop-off" the backslash key-cap, simply slide a fingernail under its edge and gradually pull up.
- Compare your scissor hinge mechanism with the photographs below.

- It's simple to replace the key-cap: Place it back over its scissor hinge mechanism and press gently down with your finger (you might have to do this more than once to get it aligned "just right" over the scissor hinge mechanism).
W1 ⇔ W2 : ALTERNATE METHOD : Compare Standard Letter or Number Key Positions and/or Small Function Positions
WARNING: Do not use this method with mechanisms under the "G", "H" or "B" keys!-
"Pop-off" the key-cap of a standard size (e.g. letter or number) or small size (e.g. function) key.
- To "Pop-off" the key-cap, simply slide a fingernail under its edge and gradually pull up.
- Compare your scissor hinge mechanism with the photographs below (particularly look at metal flanges holding mechanisms to keyboard base):
